Sand And Sky – Brilliant Skin Purifying Pink Clay Mask Review.

Hi guys! Hope you are all great!

This was first brought to my attention when my mum tagged me in a video all about it on Facebook! She knows I struggle with congested pores, and dull skin, so knew something like this would have my attention! I decided to re-search into this product further and people were raving about this mask! I am someone, who struggles with the thought of not wearing makeup when I leave the house. I have got down to just brows and mascara for work (I mainly work with the same people everyday) and just popping to the supermarket and running errands. BUT anywhere else, I want a full face. In a way, that really isn’t a bad thing, I love applying makeup, but I am desperate for better skin for the summer months. Sweaty foundation is a NO NO!

First of all, I brought this off Beauty Bay for £39.50! I am obsessed with the packaging! It is beautiful, and I really like the brush that comes with this aswell! It is so soft, and the perfect brush to apply this mask. Really easy to clean aswell, the product comes off the brush super quick! I was a little disappointed in how much product you get for the price, but I will do anything, pay anything to try and get my skin in the best condition it can be!

I really enjoy the smell of this, it isn’t to pungent and once it starts to try, it starts to fade away. I love the way this dries down! It dries super quickly, and feels really nice and firming on the skin!

Once the drying process did start, it started to tingle on my skin a little which is totally fine, and often happens with clay masks on my skin. When I took this off I could have cried. My skin was totally blotchy, and looked worse than before I put this on! This is supposed to draw out your impurities, so I put it down to that, went to sleep, woke up in the morning and actually double looked myself in the mirror. My skin looked FLAWLESS. I could not even believe what I was seeing! My skin looked bright and awake, and my pores looked smaller and tighter. I was so happy with my results.

I have continued to use this, and my skin condition has very much improved over the last couple of weeks. I can really tell a difference when I don’t use a mask in my skincare routine, and this one has really up’d the face mask game.

Again, my only con of this, is the amount of product that you get. I have gone through this so quickly, and being £39.50 a pot, I have to very apprehensively put this in my basket and buy it. But I simply couldn’t live without it anymore.

Lots of love, Ellie x

5 Current Makeup Faves! – Feb 2018

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing really well!

So since the beginning of the year, there has been a 5 products that I have been using almost every single time I do my makeup, and I thought I would share this with you all! Some of these are new, some of these are re-discovered products!

Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist, £16.00 – This spray is becoming a solid resident in my makeup collection. I love it for setting my makeup, and for a little spritz throughout the day! I also really love the scent. It doesn’t lingerer on your skin, but for that split second when you spray it, it smells divine! The only con I have with this product is that the spray is SAVAGE on this! It comes out really harsh, and you have to fan your face dry! On a clean face on a hot day, this would be a lifesaver! But just be cautious when you have a full face of glam!

Lancôme Grandiôse Mascara in Black, £26.50 – I love this mascara, the length this gives is amazing! Makes my lashes really fanned out, and my bottom lashes look beautiful. This won’t transfer onto your eyes, and will help that curl in your lashes stay all day long. It a really lovely black aswell.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC15, £18.50 – This has been a cult favourite for a long time, and I have gone through countless bottles of the stuff throughout the years. It got a little lost in the back of my drawers for a while, due to the new member of the crew ‘Tarte Shape Tape’ but I decided to reach for this and I am so glad I did. I fell in love with it all over again! The colour and consistency is beautiful, and it has a really nice coverage to it! It does crease if you don’t set it, but once you do, it will look flawless all day!

Iconic London Pigment Foundation Stick in Porcelain 0.0, £24.99 – I stumbled across this on Instagram one day watching mini tutorials (can anyone else just watch them for hours?) and sadly I can’t remember who it was using this but her skin looked incredible! I really wanted to purchase a stick foundation, and I was really tempted to delve in and try the Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation, but it will cost a hefty buck! So I brought this and I am really glad I did!! It is like butter, it goes on the skin seamlessly, and doesn’t tug either. The coverage isn’t full coverage, I would say more medium, but can be built up! The only thing I find is that for the palest shade, it isn’t very pale at all, so I really have to use a light concealer to try and get this to the correct shade.

Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid in Light/Iridescent, £7.99 – I saw Nikkie Tutorials talk about this in a Youtube video a really long time ago, I brought it and it just sat in my draw for months. For some reason I just never really went in to try it. I was clearing out my makeup and I came across this, so I left this out to try the next time I put my makeup on and I really loved it! I use it either mixed into my primer, or on all the high points on my face after I have put my foundation and concealer on. This doesn’t go well over powder, but really helps you get that ‘glow from within’ effect! I don’t always use this for my makeup, but when I am going full glam, or want that extra blinding pop of highlight, this is my go-to cream!

And that is it! I love reading these, as it great to know what other people are living for! Till next time guys!

Mario Badescu Skincare Review.

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing great!

I have been desperately looking for some good skin care for a long time, as my skin is full of congested pores, and have been for a long time! My BFF Danielle (ddlovesx) raves about Mario Badescu skin care, especially the drying Lotion! I’m longing to find a saviour for my skin, so I purchased the The 50th Anniversary Edition Set from Beauty Bay. The kit included 5 products, all amazing sizes, at a great price of £32.00!

Drying Lotion, (1 fl oz), £16.00 separately – I suffered terribly as a teenager and I have tried many spot treatments over my time. This stuff works magic on my skin! I very rarely get big spots, but when I do, this is my life saver! It reduces the size of your breakouts over night, and redness? what redness? As soon as I get a spot, this is straight on my face after my skincare routine at night! I will never be without this!

Silver powder, (0.5 oz), £12.00 separately – This is great for helping to reduce the size of your pores, but what a mess! It dries super quickly as it doesn’t stay wet for very long! So it really crumbles off your face quick! But this wouldn’t be something I would lean towards in my collection! I have better ‘face masks’ than this. Its a shame as this product was one of the reasons I brought this kit!

Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater, (4 fl oz), £7.00 separately – What a lovely facial spray! I love misting this over my moisturiser just to give it that extra hydration, and it is also great when my make up looks a little dry. A spritz brings my face back to life! This will be great on a hot day as it really cools your face down.

Flower & Tonic mask, (0.5 oz) £18.50 separately – This is a beautiful mask! It made my skin look brighter and more awake. This also really draws out the dirt and oils in my skin, making this a great mask before applying makeup! It hasn’t done much for my pores, but I love how plump and purified my skin looks!

Enzyme Cleansing Gel, (4 fl oz) £13.00 separately – If you suffer with sensitive eyes, I would not recommend this for you! Even when I don’t use it on my eyes, this stings like a bitch! It is really good at removing my makeup and leaving my skin fresh and clean, but I much prefer a cleanser I can use for my eyes and face, instead of just the face! I also prefer a foaming cleanser, which is totally down to personal preference! So.. to round up, if you don’t have sensitive eyes or a foaming cleanser, you’ll love this!

Overall, I am really impressed with Mario Badescu skin care! I have found products that will forever live on in my collection. I also think the price of this set is fantastic! So if you don’t want to spend to much, but want to try lots of different products I would 100% recommend one of their kits! I will be going back to beauty bay to purchase and try more products from this range!

Barry M – Matte Me Up, Liquid Lipstick Review.

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing great!

So, I know these Barry M Liquid Lipsticks have been around for a little while now, but I have only recently decided to pick these up! I’ve only seen a couple of reviews floating around, so I thought I would give some of them a go, and do a little review of how I feel these lipsticks perform!

They don’t have a huge colour range yet, so I picked up 3 for now, just to give them a try! The colour runway came in a lip kit, and I brought the other two as singles. The lip liner was okay, but I wanted to focus on the actual lipstick as you can buy this colour as a single aswell!

From left to right – Embellish, Minimalist, Runway (comes as a lipkit).

All three colours I picked up are really lovely. I feel like their really comfortable on the lips, and are all super opaque! They all are really long lasting, but after a long time they do start to ball up on your lips, so just be careful of that. Also, make sure you moisturise your lips, because these don’t sit overly well on dry lips, but 9/10 liquid lipsticks don’t look great on dry lips anyway! So just put a good lip balm on before application, or give your lips a nice scrub!

My favourite colour out of all of these, is Minimalist. It is a really nice, peachy tone nude colour. It also suits my skin tone really well, and I can wear it with any eye look! I also feel like the formula of this particular colour is the best, it lasts a little longer than the darker colours!

These overall are brilliant for the value, and Barry M released a really great product here! I 100% want to try more of the shades that are on offer!! I have only ever brought a couple of things from Barry M, so I would also love to dabble and try new things from this brands! Very intrigued!

Just A Mini Haul!

Hi everyone! Hope you are all fabulous!

Me and my bestie Danielle (@ddlovesx) had a bff date last weekend, and I just thought I would share some of the beauty related items I picked up! I picked up quite a few ‘homey’ things for the new house, but that is an upcoming post! We had a lovely, chilled out day, but also spent a decent amount of money after a long awaited pay day! There isn’t to much here, but no matter the size, I love a good haul!

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water, £22.00 – This is a re-purchase for me! I love this as a ‘before foundation, after primer’ product! I can’t use it on its own, as I don’t feel like it primes my face how I like it, but it almost locks in any primer I have already set down on my face! I can always tell the difference when I haven’t used this. My makeup isn’t as long lasting, and I feel it gets more oily. Will always purchase!

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, £23.50 – My all time favourite foundation! I currently have the shade NW20 which was perfect throughout the summer! Now I am back to my ‘like a sheet of paper’ pasty skin, I had to get a lighter shade to see me through winter! I am now wearing NW10 which is one of the lightest shades, but a pretty much perfect match for me!

MAC Lip Duo, £29.50 – Danielle convinced me to buy this kit, as it is one of her all time favourite lipsticks. MAC had a couple of different sets on stand, and she just MADE me buy it! It comes with the Body Bare lip pencil which is a great neutral shade! They had loads of different colour schemes, but this was my favourite!

Maybelline Super Stay 24hrs Foundation, £9.99 – I already had this shade, that I have now kindly donated.. to who you ask? Yeah Danielle haha! Sadly it was way to dark for me, so I have now brought one of the lightest shades in hope it works better for me!

Maybelline Colossal Big Shot Mascara, £7.99 – I saw a review on this a couple of weeks ago, sadly I can’t remember who wrote it BUT her lashes look incredible, so I thought I would pick this up and see how it goes! I love trying out new mascaras!

L’Oréal X Fiber Xtreme Resist Waterproof Mascara,  £10.99 – This has been flying around the internet! I have never used a fiber mascara before, and I thought this would be a really good place to start!

Garnier Skin Active Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask, £1.99 – One of my favourite masks! Makes my skin super hydrated and feel extra soft and plump! So cheap aswell! Makes my makeup look a lot better after using this!

Superdrugs Own Cleansing Facial Wipes, 99p – I to this day will NEVER use makeup wipes to take the makeup off my face, for years they dried my skin out and I could never figure out what it was! But I love them for removing makeup from the back of my hand, or from my arm where I have done swatches for a video!

I do love a good haul!! Until next time!!

My Current Favourite Zoeva Brushes!

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all doing fabulous!

I am a total makeup brush hoarder, and I love buying new brushes to try out! I’ve tried quite a few different brands, but Zoeva seems to stand out to me the most! The quality is always on point, I love the way they look, and they always last me such a long time! I have recently discovered their new ‘Rose Gold’ set, which are not only beautiful, but match my new room in my new house! Will 100% be investing in the whole set soon enough. But these are my current top 6 favourites, that I use almost everyday.

104 / Buffer – I recently spoke about this brush in my ‘Maybelline Super Stay 24hrs Foundation’ review. This is the only foundation I will ever use to buff in my foundation. It is the perfect density, and doesn’t leave streak marks all over your face. It did shed a little when I first used it, but never again since. It also washes really nicely and always keeps its shape! I don’t often use a brush for my foundation, as I prefer the application from a sponge, but this is the one I turn to if I fancy a change.

105 / Luxe Highlighter – This is my most recent purchase from Zoeva. When I saw this colouring I instantly fell in love with them!! They look gorgeous, and look so expensive in my brush pot, it really stands out. This is incredible for highlight, its the right shape for my cheekbones and tip of my nose so it places the product in all the right points! This is the only brush I use for my highlight at the moment. I love it! I am also so desperate to get this whole collection! Its just incredible!

227 / Luxe Soft Definer – This is the brush I use to prime my eyelids if I’m not priming with a cream primer! If I’m lazy, I’ll just put a white base down on my eyes, and this is so soft, and picks up the shadow really well. It disperses the product so well on the lids.

228 / Luxe Crease – My GO TO crease brush! I love this for putting the first transition colour through the crease, and it blends out my shadow beautifully every time. I try every new shadow I get with this brush, as I know it works so well, and can really tell if the eye shadow is a good quality shadow. I’ve used this to death, and I am in desperate need of a new one, but I will carry on using it till that day comes!

223 / Petit Eye Blender – This is great for the lower lash line! It’s the perfect size to blend product into the eye, and makes my shadow look beautiful and smokey every time. It’s just the perfect size. And also super soft, so it doesn’t irritate my eyes.

231 / Luxe Petit Crease – I love this for packing and blending out darker shades on my outer corner. Again, it’s just so soft, so the product looks effortless on my outer corner, and when using dark shades, there is usually fall down, but this holds the product so well. I find when I use this brush, it halves the amount of full down, giving me maximum product.

142 / Concealer Buffer – Now, I don’t actually use this brush to buff in concealer. I actually use it to really set my concealer under my eyes and on my eyelids. It helps to keep creasing at bay, as the application is so precise. If I decide to bake under the eyelids, I will only use this so set on the actual eyelids. I also use this to clean up any shadow on the outer corner, so get a super precise blend.

And that is my favourite Zoeva brushes! I’m 100% going to try new brush brands this year, I really want to try more Morphe and Sigma. When I go to the USA, my list of brushes I want to buy is almost in-human.

Lots of love, Ellie x

Topshop Lipsticks – Review and Swatches.

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all doing fab!

For a long time now, Topshop have had their very own beauty line, starting a trend for most other high street clothing stores. They have a full range of products, with base, eyes and lips!

A couple of years ago, whilst queuing to buy whatever t-shirt or pair of Jamie jeans caught my eye that day, I swatched a lipstick of theirs called ‘Lovestruck’. It was my go-to lipstick for months, I even brought one for my cousin Ashleigh, whom to this day still loves it (she would tell you, I am an awful influence to her when we go shopping, she comes home with more makeup than me!!). Sadly we are using it sparingly, as they have discontinued our favourite colour! But this sparked a desire to try and find another staple Topshop lipstick for my collection! I tried 6 new shades, all totally different colours, undertones and finishes!

From left to right – Fast Lane, Mind Your Manners, Dreamy, Beguiled, Inhibition , Rio Rio.

First of all I have to say, they are some of the most comfortable lipsticks I have EVER tried from the high street. DAMN this formula is insane! It is so comfortable on the lips, and the pigmentation for every shade is there. Usually when buying 6 lipsticks at a time, its possible to find a dud… but nope! Not a single one of these shades disappointed me!

Obviously, the more creamier ones are transferable, but you have to expect that from a more glossy type formula! So just be careful with the more darker shades! The two matte ones I picked up, Dreamy and Rio Rio are such beautiful matte lipsticks! They are so easy to wear, and they don’t dry out your lips! Dreamy has now become one of my all time favourite lipsticks ever! It compliments my skin tone beautifully, and I feel like this is such a universal shade aswell. This is also a one of those ‘omg what have you got on your lips?’ colour!

The packaging is almost like… a metal packaging! Which is great and so fab to travel with, but it does start to scratch and rub off over time! But I’m not going let that put these lipsticks down, they are such good quality, you really can’t fault them.

I cannot wait to get my hands on some more of these! They are ALL incredible, and very much a staple in my lipstick collection! And at a price tag of £8.00 you really can’t go wrong. A huge recommendation to you all!

Lots of love, Ellie x
